Lady Gaga is a noted enthusiast of white wine — for proof, look no further than her 2009 hit “Telephone,” where she sings about being “out at the club” while “sippin’ that bub.“ And now, fresh off her dazzling Super Bowl halftime performance, it looks like Gaga is taking her wine appreciation to the next level by actually bottling and releasing the stuff.
Lady G is filing the necessary paperwork to launch a brand called Grigio Girls. The name is a reference to the song of the same name from her 2016 album Joanne, and both the track and the beverage are tributes to a friend who has cancer, TMZ reports. In addition to wine, Gaga’s company filed applications to produce wine coolers and punches under the Grigio Girls moniker. No word yet on when this elixir will hit shelves, but once it’s available, you will likely be able to sip it at Joanne Trattoria, the Italian restaurant that her family runs on Manhattan’s Upper West Side.
Will Grigio Girls pair nicely with a meat dress? Only time will tell. But Gaga will probably approach the world of winemaking with the same gusto she applies to acting, singing, and dancing. And if she needs some advice on what barrels to buy or how to smash the grapes, she can always call up one of the other celebrity vintners like Carlos Santana, Dave Matthews, Drew Barrymore, Gérard Depardieu, Kyle MacLachlan, Lil Jon, and, of course, Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie.
