Welcome back to Real Chefs Cook Dumb Recipes — a video series where chefs with varying accolades attempt the recipes created by non-chefs, people with literally zero culinary experience who still manage to publish cookbooks that are allowed to be sold to the public.

Real chefs and Meat Hook owners Brent Young and Ben Turley are back, this time tackling a meatloaf recipe from the Star Trek Cookbook. The “Gyronian Meat Loaf à la Paris,” created by USS Voyager Lieutenant Tom Paris, calls for one and a half pounds of meat, marinara sauce, tomato juice, and other mainland produce. Unable to obtain hormoos — a parasitic animal that lived on the backs of Gyronian wamules and is of course not real — Young and Turley go with beef. The result is a recipe that’s actually not so bad, especially if it’s being served to you 7 million light-years from the Milky Way.
