It's the rentrée in Paris, that time of year when the city's residents have wrapped up their vacations and are flooding the metro anew as they head back to work and to school. For the city's food scene, this season always seems to bring many new restaurant openings. This year is no different. On the agenda: lots of ambitious but gently-priced options from well-trained chefs that don't want to go too haute (Abri, Roseval), wine bars to compliment — and alleviate the traffic at — busy restaurants (Vivant Cave, Septime Cave), a funky gourmet boutique (CheZ aline), and the three-star chef Anne-Sophie Pic's first Paris restaurant (La Dame de Pic).
Many thanks to the folks at Le Fooding for their invaluable intel. And please note that right next to each restaurant's name, in parentheses, there is information specifying when the restaurant will open, or if it's already in operation.
