Today Eater returns to Phoenix, Arizona to focus on 10 newish restaurants that are garnering some serious buzz. It's been about seven months since the last Phoenix heatmap, and this time Phoenix food writer Laura Hahnefeld has kindly offered her picks for the hottest openings of the past 12 months.

On the list is a sweets shop from a respected pastry chef (Super Chunk Sweets & Treats), a Tempe chef's first restaurant after a decade in the kitchen at a local favorite (The Revival), and a new restaurant from a Top Chef Masters contestant (SumoMaya). There are plenty of places to get a good drink too, whether at a downtown destination with a 25-page cocktail menu (Bitter & Twisted Cocktail Parlour) or an ambitious restaurant with a focus on booze (Second Story Liquor Bar). Here now, and in alphabetical order, the Eater Heatmap to Phoenix.
