Today we return to Istanbul, Turkey and focus on eight restaurants and cafes that have opened over the past year and are garnering serious buzz. As was the case last time around, food writer, blogger, and dining app editor Katie Parla — who also writes Eater's Rome heatmap — has shared these picks for the hottest dining Istanbul currently has to offer.

Among the selections — which are listed in no particular order — are restaurants from three well-known international chefs in the high-end Zorlu Center. These include a first-ever international restaurant from Massimo Bottura (Ristorante Italia), and Istanbul expansions for Michael White and Tom Aikens (Morini and Tom's Kitchen). Beyond the Zorlu Center, there's a reinterpretation of traditional Anatolian cuisine (Yeni Lokanta), and a couple of hot new coffee spots (Ministry of Coffee and Petra Roasting Co). Here now, the Eater Heatmap to Istanbul, a chronicle of the city's restaurants of the moment.
