This week we head to Charlotte, a city not yet under the Eater purview, and select ten newish locales that have been garnering serious buzz. This time around, we've been fortunate enough to consult Charlotte Observer restaurant critic Helen Schwab, who has shared with us some of her picks.
There's plenty to be excited about on this list, from a re-imaging of the "meat and three" (Diamond), top-notch sushi in a no-frills setting (Cyros), and one of Esquire's twenty best new restaurants in the U.S. (Kalu). But the one that really strikes our fancy is King's Kitchen, the new restaurant from Jim Noble, a not-for-profit that helps the community, employs people in need, and serves excellent food in the process.
Here now, the Eater Heat Map to Charlotte, a chronicle of the city's restaurants of the moment.
Tried any of the places on the list or feel there are any glaring omissions? You know what to do.
