The Eater Brooklyn Heat Map: Where to Eat Right Now

View as Map

In an interview last week, food writer Mimi Sheraton declared that "so far anywhere I've been to [in Brooklyn] has not been worth the trip from Manhattan." So, in her honor, we're going to do something a little different this week. Instead of focusing on a city not yet under the Eater purview, as we usually do, we're directing our attention to Brooklyn and its hottest restaurants.

We've been lucky enough to consult Village Voice restaurant critic Robert Sietsema, a man who's had the poor fortune of actually having to write about that borough's lackluster, overrated food scene as part of his job. He's shared with us his buzz-worthy picks — some are obvious, some not so much — and we, too, have thrown in a few worth a look.

Here now, the Eater Heat Map to Brooklyn, a chronicle of the borough's restaurants of the moment.

Our thanks to Mr. Sietsema, Eater NY editor Amanda Kludt, and a few Brooklynite friends who'd rather remain anonymous.

Think there are any glaring omissions? You know what to do.
