This being Burger Week and all, we've decided to do something slightly different for our weekly Heat Map. Instead of focusing on one city and its most buzzed about restaurants, as we usually do, we want to draw your attention to fifteen spots in fifteen major cities across the country serving burgers that are very much of the moment.

To put this together, we've consulted with the editors of each Eater city site, major local critics and burger experts, and even some chefs (including Grant Achatz, who recommended Kuma's Corner in Chicago). Like most lists of this sort, this map doesn't have the pretense of being definitive. Nonetheless, there's no doubt that the selections here are something to behold, what with their crazy long lines, their oxtail marmalades, and their dry-aged blends.

Here now, the Eater Burger Week Heat Map, a chronicle of some of the hottest burger spots in the country.
