Paul Smith's College in upstate New York isn't the only school dabbling in beer. Kalamazoo Valley Community College and Western Michigan University are joining forces to launch the country's first ever four year sustainable beer brewing program, developed in conjunction with former Coors brewer Mike Babb. Beginning fall 2015, students will have the opportunity to earn a certificate or associate degree at KVCC and then pursue a Bachelor of Science degree at WMU. Alongside the science-based program, the curriculum will center on eco-conscious brewing practices like water conservation, a major concern for craft brewers across the country.
