Do you have a signature dish you think can stack up to a professional's cooking? New NBC culinary competition show Food Fighters is guessing at least six home cooks do. The show will be hosted by beloved former-eater-of-tons-of-food Adam Richman, from Travel Channel's Man v. Food. On Food Fighters, Adam will be our MC as six home cooks compete against six career chefs in individual cooking competitions.
Sound unfair? Don't worry. According to The Hollywood Reporter, judging will be blind, and the home cooks will get a boost with three "lifelines" during the course of the show. (Remember Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? Yeah. Like that.) Plus, they are only recruiting home cooks who are ready to hustle. Open calls happening in DC and San Diego.
In this high-pressure competition you're going to need courage, strategy and culinary skills to win, because every dish matters and every decision counts. From pancakes and grilled cheese to pasta and the perfect steak, winning has never tasted so good!
NBC's last attempt to join the broadcast food competition circuit was America's Next Great Restaurant. After a season-long run that show was not renewed.
