Over the weekend, the Obamas celebrated their 17th wedding anniversary at Blue Duck Tavern in Washington DC. The couple's choice of the three-year-old West End restaurant is the latest in a series of eateries that promote Michelle Obama's local/sustainable mantra and have the word "blue" in their name (see also: their NYC trip). Blue Duck is run by Chef Brian McBride and boasts a wood-fired oven as its centerpiece. No word on whether or not Alice Waters was cooking an egg there on Saturday night.
For those wondering, in the midst of the presidential campaign last year, the Obamas celebrated their 16th wedding anniversary at Chicago's Spiaggia.
