Poutine is everywhere these days, so we thought'd we'd seen it all. We were very, very wrong. Django quite possibly serves the best poutine we've ever had.

Iowa Taproom exclusively serves beer made in Iowa and boasts over 120 taps. The staff here is wonderful and very passionate about beer.

The Cheese Shop of Des Moines
Aside from beer, there are few things we love more than cheese. We stopped by the Cheese Shop for lunch and split a cheese board (obviously) as well as a variety of sandwiches and salads. Everything was outstanding, including their well-curated beer selection.
Java Joes Coffee House
This cozy downtown coffeehouse was a great place to hunker down and get some work done during the day. They've been roasting their own beans since 1992, and it's definitely paying off — their coffee was exceptional.
