Gravity Taphouse Grille
Gravity is an awesome craft-beer bar with more than 60 taps. The patio has several fireplaces, making for a cozy spot to enjoy some Bourbon County Stout.
Lubbers Family Farm
The farm is only about 10 minutes from downtown Grand Rapids and a great escape from the city. Every Saturday, they open up their farm store from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and offer activities for the whole family.
JD Reardons
We swung by JD Reardon’s for an early afternoon beer on its beautiful patio, but after a few beers we lost our self-control and ordered the crab Rangoon dip. We have no regrets.
Madcap Coffee
We were so excited to make a stop at MadCap Coffee but when we arrived they were closed for renovations. We were only temporarily devastated, because the good baristas were set up on the sidewalk serving their brews. We went with their decadent iced coffee on nitro.
Real Food Cafe
The name isn’t a lie: The food was real (obviously), and delicious. We stopped by for breakfast; the corned beef hash was our favorite.
Brewery Vivant
We love historic old buildings, and this funeral home turned Belgian-inspired brewery was no exception. We got a tour of the brewery, where all the real magic happens.
Elk Brewing Company
The folks at Elk Brewing were wonderful and showed us a great time on our short visit to Grand Rapids. Definitely make a point to stop by and check out what they are brewing.
Maru Sushi & Grill
We eat a lot of pub fare on the road, so stopping for sushi is one of the best treats. The Boogie Veggie roll, with tempura sweet potato, surprised us the most. It was definitely the most delicious veggie roll we’ve encountered.
