Need to get your Tex-Mex fix? Swing over to Chuy’s in Doral for some crispy tacos stuffed with ground sirloin, tomatoes, lettuce, and cheese. They’re just like the hard-shell tacos you had growing up — but better. Make new memories this Taco Tuesday and order enough for your whole crew. And while you’re pleasing your inner kid with crunchy tacos, keep your adult self happy with a frozen strawberry margarita. Top it off with a floater of Cazadores and you’ll really get the party started.

Plomo Tequila & Taco Bar

As Plomo’s name suggests, they aren’t just a bar that happens to have tacos. Tacos are their bread and butter (or, perhaps, their tortillas y salsa). So it’s no surprise they have tons of tacos to choose from, with everything from traditional pork and pineapple tacos al pastor to more playful fillings like eggs and chorizo or beer-battered shrimp and pickled onions. At $3 to $4.50 each, you can make your own taco sampler and pair it with one of the 65 tequilas and mezcals from Plomo’s extensive stock.

Talavera Cocina Mexicana

Another upscale option, Talavera Cocina Mexicana in Coral Gables combines thoughtfully prepared dishes and reasonable prices in a stylish setting. Try their Castacan Taco Yucateco, a Yucatan-style taco with pork belly, cheese, and pickled cabbage inside a handmade tortilla. A citrusy drink, like a Cazadores Margarita, will set off those savory flavors. Ask your bartender to make it with Cazadores Blanco, lime juice, agave nectar, and a premium orange liqueur.

More in the mood for chic and gourmet? Head to Wynwood (of course) for Bakan, a creative Mexican eatery where you can choose from over 500 tequilas, lounge at the outdoor bar and terrace, and dine on escamoles, ant eggs sautéed in butter: the food of Aztec emperors. Craving another option aside from what Bakan dubs Los Exoticos? For less exotic but still luxurious are the langosta con chorizo tacos, where you get three tacos packed with local Florida lobster and sausage.

Tacology

If you have a hankering for something more rustic, head over to Tacology, where executive chef Santiago Gomez brings celebrated regional street food from all over Mexico. This hot spot is styled after a traditional Mexican mercado: Just like market stalls, each area of Tacology’s indoor market specializes in a different part of your meal. Sample Baja lobster tacos, chilaquiles, chicharrones, guac, paletas (popsicles), and more. To round out your meal, ask the bartender for a Cazadores Paloma, made with Cazadores Blanco, lime juice, grapefruit soda, and salt. This refreshing concoction will get your mouth ready for more flavor and spice.

222 TACO

For an Instagram-worthy scene with a hip garden vibe, bring your camera and your taste buds toward 222 Taco in North Bay Village. At 222, it’s easy to eat green and even vegan. If you’re avoiding meat altogether or just want Meatless Monday to carry over into Taco Tuesday, try 222’s cauliflower al pastor tacos, which have a sweet, tart kick. These low-key healthy tacos make a prime pairing with 222’s frozen slush party-style margaritas. Unlike conventional margaritas, these have a piña colada-like sweetness, but they don’t skimp on the tequila. Make sure you order yours with Cazadores for the real-deal Mexican tequila experience.

Tequiztlan Mexican Restaurant and Tequila Bar

Even though Tequiztlan is modern and industrial — think graffitied city flair with a dose of shabby chic — their food is all traditional. Just like at Taquiza, you can sample chapulines here. Another tasty option is the lengua, or beef tongue, a Oaxacan delicacy. Tequiztlan also has the usual tacos, like chorizo, pollo, and carne asada. Go old-school with your drink at Tequiztlan and order up a house margarita with Cazadores tequila and Tequiztlan’s margarita mix.

Bodega Taqueria y Tequila

Inspired by the tiny (and always delicious) roadside stalls outside Mexico City, Bodega Taqueria y Tequila offers up tacos full of slow-cooked meat in a technicolor taco truck-type joint. Don’t let Bodega’s small digs fool you. The chefs lavish time and care on their meat, slow cooking it on rotating spits that are dripping with flavor. Bodega has classic tacos, like carnitas, chicken, and braised short ribs. They also offer hip takes and new flavor combinations, like truffle-maple carnitas or their vegan carne asada, made with Impossible Foods veggie protein. Pair your eats with a Mexican draft beer or kick it up a notch with a Cazadores jalapeño margarita.

For beachier, Baja-style eats in Miami, look no further than Lolo’s Surf Cantina. At Lolo’s, you can keep your meal light and fresh, starting at the raw bar with some Sinaloan ceviche. Follow that with some elote, grilled corn smothered with cheese. By then, you’ll be ready for some tacos. All of Lolo’s tacos come in house-made tortillas. Go coastal with some mahi-mahi or spicy grilled shrimp, and order a Cazadores Highland Margarita to match. Ask the bartender to mix up Cazadores Blanco with grapefruit juice, lime juice, and agave to make this zingy, crisp drink.

Taquiza

Looking for something both adventurous and muy authéntico? Take a trip over to South Beach for Taquiza’s signature chapulines taco. If you don’t know much Spanish you might be in for a surprise, because chapulines are grasshoppers, a crunchy, traditional — and very sustainable — Mexican treat. Taquiza toasts theirs in adobo and then nestles them in a daub of guacamole. If that sounds a little too adventurous for you, Taquiza has tamer fillings like pork and carne asada, too. You can also order up a shot or two of Cazadores to summon the courage.
