Here, now, some exciting hiring news from inside Eater:
Madeleine Davies, who was previously the managing editor of Jezebel, is Eater’s daily editor, a new position that’ll oversee all of our day-to-day, take-to-take news and culture coverage. Her own writing has appeared in the New York Times, The Outline, and in her own personal newsletter about Vanderpump Rules.
One of our two new staff writers is Jaya Saxena, whose work you’ve seen all over the internet — GQ, the New Yorker, the Toast, the Hairpin, the Goods, and previously right here on the Eater — and who is currently writing a book about crystals. Also joining us as a staff writer is Jenny G. Zhang, who’s returning to Eater after a brief sojourn in audience development at Slate; you should subscribe to her newsletter, in which she annotates a magazine piece once a week.
Finally, James Beard Award-winning writer and editor Osayi Endolyn, whose work has appeared everywhere from the Los Angeles Times to the Wall Street Journal to the Oxford American, is the editor of our upcoming special section completely dedicated to the world of Eater Young Guns. Launching later this spring, the Young Gun subbrand will focus on stories for and about young upstarts in the restaurant industry.
