Comedian Aparna Nancherla Visits Danny Meyer’s New Lexus Restaurant

Late last year restaurateur Danny Meyer started cashing in on Lexus money when he and his hospitality group Union Square Hospitality Group opened a New York City restaurant sponsored by the luxury car company — a move Upsell hosts Dan and Amanda argued made Meyer a bit of a sellout.

Given the name Intersect by Lexus, the bilevel Meatpacking District restaurant is where Dan is meeting up with comedian Aparna Nancherla on this week’s episode of The Eater Upsell. Dan and Nancherla return to the studio after their multi-course meal at the restaurant’s chef’s counter to discuss strategically placed golden luxury cars, cheeky menu puns, and how cauliflower is joyously replacing portobello mushroom as the meat replacement for vegetarians.
