Guy Fieri Is Taking Disney World Back to Flavortown with Chicken Guy!

The name fittingly includes an exclamation point, which is the Guy Fieri of punctuation

Guy Fieri has just completed a wildly successful crossover from food to science entertainment television with his Shark Week special, and what’s he going to do next? He’s going to Walt Disney World, again. Fieri, the Platinum Prince, the Barron of Bold Flavors, the Mayor of Flavortown himself, is opening a new restaurant called Chicken Guy! at Disney Springs in Orlando, Florida.

This is Fieri’s second venture down in Orlando. In 2016, he signed on to help revamp the Planet Hollywood at Disney Springs, applying his signature out-of-bounds panache to the restaurant’s menu. At Chicken Guy!, Guy will serve chicken, obviously. Specifically, the establishment will deal in fried tenders in a fast-casual setting. Fast-casual fried chicken was poised to become the Next Big Thing a few years ago, but the hype fizzled out. Now that Fieri is on board, will this concept finally have its big breakthrough?

Restaurateur Robert Earl is partnering on the project. An official announcement reveals Chicken Guy! — Elaine Benes would have a real problem with that exclamation point, by the way — will pair its tenders with “a wide variety of flavorful sauces meant to please all palates.” No word yet, though, on whether or not Fieri’s famed Donkey Sauce will make an appearance on the menu.

Fieri operates more than a dozen restaurants in standalone buildings, casinos, and cruise ships around the world around the world. In addition to his Disney chicken emporium, the rude, crude culinary dude is planning a new taco joint in Dallas. As with Chicken Guy!, he’s keeping the name simple on that project: Guy Fieri’s Taco Joint.
