- KFC, the fast-food chain that loves gonzo stunts and oddball novelty foods, is planning to introduce a fake meat product at its U.K. locations at some point in the next year. The new faux chicken will mimic the flavor of the real stuff, and a rep for the chain tells Food Beast “development of the recipe is still in its very early stages, and so the options we’re exploring in our kitchen are still top secret.” The development of this new product is part of a larger effort to reduce the calorie counts of KFC meals in the U.K.
