- Soon every Whole Foods store in America will offer special discounts to Amazon Prime subscribers. After slowly rolling out the discounts a few states at a time, Amazon will take the program nationwide this Wednesday, June 27. Among the deals Prime customers can expect to find this week: baby back pork ribs for $4.99 per pound, a discount of $5 per pound, and wild sockeye salmon for $13.99 per pound, which is $6 per pound in savings.
- It’s a day ending in “Y,” so plastic straws are in the news. Giant Italian market chain Eataly and Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises, which operates more than 120 restaurants in nine states, are the latest companies to ban the beverage accessories. Plastic straws have become Public Enemy No. 1 because they end up polluting oceans once they’re discarded.
- Say it ain’t so: A bourbon warehouse in Kentucky partially collapsed over the weekend, and more than 9,000 barrels of aging brown liquor were affected.
- Katy Perry ate at Taco Bell while she was on tour in Glasgow because she couldn’t get a table at any of the city’s top restaurants. “I was on the Internet looking up the top 25 places for dinner,” the pop star said. “Some are really fancy, some only sit like 10 people. I called a couple of places and couldn’t get in anywhere. On the list at the very end it said Taco Bell, so I went there — and then I went to your movie theatre.”
- A transgender woman was kicked out of a Washington, D.C., restaurant for using the “wrong” bathroom. The restaurant posted an apology on Twitter.

- Finally, Domino’s is threatening a lawsuit against Toppers Pizza because the Midwest chain’s advertising includes photos of Dominos employees unloading its dough from trucks. Toppers has no intention of backing down: “It’s not defamation if it’s true,” founder Domenic Romano tells CNBC.
