South Carolina’s whole hog master, Rodney Scott, wants to bring his barbecue to the entire world. Fresh off a James Beard win (the second ever awarded to a pitmaster), Rodney recently announced his third restaurant, this time in Birmingham, and shows no signs of slowing down. This week on the Upsell, we talk to Scott about his life mastering whole hog, how one festival in 2010 opened his eyes up to a whole world of barbecue and new opportunities, and how he tries to spread his message of positivity and good times to everyone he meets.
