Disney World Now Serves Booze at Every Sit-Down Restaurant Inside the Magic Kingdom

Excellent news for parents braving the theme park this summer

Is Disney World really the happiest place on Earth? Absolutely not, but it just got a little more tolerable: Alcohol is now served at every full-service restaurant inside the Magic Kingdom, People reports.

Wine and beer are newly available at three additional restaurants inside the main park, a press release from Disney World explains: the Plaza Restaurant, a casual sandwich and salad spot on Main Street USA; the Crystal Palace, a buffet restaurant patrolled by characters Winnie the Pooh, Eeyore, and Piglet; and the Diamond Horseshoe, a dinner buffet in Frontierland.

The Magic Kingdom didn’t serve alcohol at all until 2012, and until 2016 it was only available during dinner at Be Our Guest, the fine-dining Beauty and the Beast-themed restaurant. (In December 2016 the park began serving alcohol at four additional restaurants.)

Though the Magic Kingdom had until recently remained a more-or-less dry zone inside the park, alcohol has long been plentiful at Disney World’s other parks, including Epcot and Animal Kingdom. For a primer on where to get tipsy at the park, do scope out Eater’s guide to drinking at Disney World. And maybe consider downing that third glass of chardonnay after riding Space Mountain.
