Sugary beverage behemoth PepsiCo wants to remind Super Bowl viewers that generations of soda drinkers — and celebrities — have endorsed its product over the years.
A 30-second ad that will air right before the Pepsi-sponsored halftime show this Sunday features cameos from previous spokespeople, as well as footage of past Super Bowl ads and some goofy recreations of cola-fueled scenes from the ’50s, ’60s, and ’70s. Cindy Crawford appears in a throwback to her 1992 Pepsi ad, but this time she’s joined by her model son Presley Gerber. Basketball star Kyrie Irving reprises his “Uncle Drew” character from a few years ago, and NASCAR star Jeff Gordon makes a cameo, too. Clips of Pepsi ads from the Back to the Future DeLorean, Michael Jackson, and Britney spears are also thrown in the mix, while Jimmy Fallon narrates (Kendall Jenner is noticeably absent, though).
Watch the commercial above, check out the extended cut below, and stay tuned for more previews of the Super Bowl food ads throughout the week.
