Guy Fieri, the longtime incumbent mayor of Flavortown who was just elected to yet another four-year term, is providing a civil service by feeding first responders who are engaged with the devastating wildfires in Northern California. Fieri hasn’t made much of a big deal about his good deed, but as the Huffington Post notes, the Butte County Sheriff’s Department is singing his praises on Twitter.
Fieri, he of the empire that extends to restaurants, television, and cookbooks, has performed similar charitable acts in the past. In October 2017, he set up shop in Santa Rosa, California, to feed barbecue to thousands of wildfire evacuees. In July of this year, he helped the Red Cross feed people escaping another fire in Redding, California.
Assisting those who are trying to put out this month’s Camp fire, which has resulted in 42 deaths and is now the deadliest wildfire in United States history, Fieri has reportedly served up pulled pork and a number of sides.
In today’s tumultuous world, it’s amazing to see our fire fighters, military, law enforcement and first responders come together to rescue our communities devestated by fire. So many great people stepping up to take care of one another #ProudAmerican #CampFire pic.twitter.com/VgXgBJuPT0

At the southern end of the state, another celebrity is volunteering to feed people who are currently battling a blaze. Dave Grohl, lead singer and guitarist for the Foo Fighters, has been slinging free barbecue at Fire Station 68 in Calabasas, California, reports Eater LA. These firefighters are currently trying to contain the Woolsey fire, which has affected homes and businesses metro Los Angeles.
