And it literally runs on Dunkin’ (ugh)

Maybe it’s the harbinger of a future fueled by coffee or maybe it’s just another brand stunt, but Dunkin’ Donuts (now simply Dunkin’) is getting very literal with its “America runs on Dunkin’” tagline by constructing a tiny house that partially runs on fuel from spent coffee grounds. The 275-square-foot home made its debut as an installation in New York earlier this month and is now listed for rent on Airbnb for a mere $10 per night.

Just imagine it: a brisk fall weekend relaxing in an Airbnb in the seaside town of Nahant, Massachusetts, warmed by an endless supply of mediocre coffee. Dubbed “The Home That Runs on Dunkin’,” the subway tile-filled tiny house was designed by David Latimer, of New Frontier Tiny Homes, with interior design touches from actress Olivia Wilde, per a release. It features a kitchen with strategically placed bags of Dunkin’ Donuts beans, a loft bed, a Jacuzzi tub, a cedar deck, and lots of orange and pink interior design references to the coffee-and-doughnuts chain. The house’s generator runs on a biofuel blend of 80 percent coffee oil extracted by Blue Marble Energy.

Airbnb guests were invited to start booking two-night stays at the tiny home on Friday, October 12, for dates between Tuesday, October 16, and Friday, October 26. Coffee and snacks are provided, but visitors have to bring the fixings for their own meals. The tiny home is, unfortunately, already booked solid.
