The Buffalo Bills qualified for the National Football League playoffs with a win in their final regular-season game on Sunday. Even with the victory, Buffalo needed their top competition, the Baltimore Ravens, to lose to the Cincinnati Bengals in their final game. Cincinnati won, and as a “thank you,” the Bills sent the Bengals an impressive gift of 120 dozen Buffalo wings from local institution Duff’s, reports SB Nation. Hope they included plenty of Wet-Naps.

This is an awfully nice gesture. Chicken wings prepared in the Buffalo style make for the quintessential Buffalo dish, obviously, and 1,440 wings is nothing to sneeze at. The gift may appear to be a bit over the top at first glance, but the last time the Bills made the playoffs was 1999, when Bill Clinton was president, the dot com bubble had not yet burst, and Emeril Lagasse was still shouting “bam!” at packed studio audiences. It was a long time ago. It’s understandable that the Bills are grateful.
