The James Beard Foundation Awards are among the highest honors in the American food world. Semifinalists for the 2018 chef and restaurant awards were announced on February 15, and nominees on March 14.
Winners in the book, television, and journalism categories were announced at the James Beard Media Awards on April 27. The James Beard Chef and Restaurant Awards, where the recipients of America’s Classics awards are also acknowledged, took place on May 7 and crowned Gabrielle Hamilton, Edouardo Jordan, and Dominique Crenn among the winners.
