People simply cannot get enough of Pennywise, the child-eating, sewer-dwelling clown from the blockbuster film It. Perhaps knowing this, a Dallas-area doughnut shop is offering a special two day-only delivery service that is sure to delight fans of Stephen King’s terrifying clown creation. For a $10 fee, Hurts Donut will have an employee dressed up like a monster clown drop of a box of treats at your door. Of course, you can also request to have the red-haired circus mutant deliver a batch of doughnuts to the workplace or dwelling of a friend (or foe), as well.
Although the clown in Hurts’s promotional photos bears as striking resemblance to the creature in both the novel and film adaptation of It, the owners are not calling this an official homage or tie-in. “We always try to keep up with the trends, and clowns are trending right now,” Hurts proprietor Kas Clegg tells GuideLive. “It’s fall, and it’s getting close to Halloween, so we just wanted to spice it up a little bit and do a super fun delivery.”
The special is available today and tomorrow throughout Frisco, TX, but on Facebook, the Hurts team notes: “If we have enough interest in surrounding communities... we may pick a day for out of town clown deliveries as well!”
