Talking head Sean Hannity reportedly has a taste for elderly crustaceans. A server from the Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C. claims Hannity ran up a $42,000 tab at the hotel’s restaurant, during inauguration weekend, according to GQ — a figure that reportedly included the cost of flying in an eight-pound, 70-year-old lobster from Maine.
While the hotel’s restaurant, BLT Prime (which is operated by chef-restaurateur David Burke), is certainly pricey — think $120 seafood towers and $64 Dover sole — it would take some serious wining and dining to rack up that kind of tab. The restaurant does serve a $100 martini called The Benjamin, and the priciest bottle of wine listed on the menu is a $1,200 Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa’s Eisele Vineyard. (How much does a plane ticket for a septuagenarian lobster cost, anyway?)
Fox News tells GQ this high-dollar feast never happened, however, and the Fox News pundit and fierce Donald Trump loyalist also took to Twitter to deny the story, declaring it “FAKE NEWS!!”:
FAKE NEWS!! Ridiculous Fake News!! NEVER HAPPENED. https://t.co/Muleg7VpPH

Raw Story points out that, if true, that would mean Hannity ponied up big bucks to devour a lobster that was 14 years his senior. And any meal that can help an aging Fox News host who’s earned his fortune yelling at people on TV feel young again is perhaps worth its weight in gold.
