Watch Andrew Zimmern Feast on Texas Chuckwagon Cuisine

The author/TV host breaks bread with a bunch of cowpokes

Andrew Zimmern, the man who has consumed more offal in more countries than any other person living or dead, is headed out on an American history-themed odyssey for the new season of the Travel Channel’s Bizarre Foods. In the season premiere, which airs next Tuesday, July 25, Zimmern meets with a vaquero from the Coahuiltecan Nation to learn about making barbacoa, and he visits the San Antonio rodeo to sample some old-school Texan fare. His tour of Texas also includes an extremely meaty dinner served from a chuckwagon by a bunch of cowboys out on the prairie. Watch the clip above to see Andrew eat grilled bone marrow, fried snake, ribeye skewers, stewed tripe, and bacon-wrapped quail hearts with jalapeño.

Later this season, Zimmern will head down Daniel Boone’s wilderness trail in Kentucky, and he’ll retrace Paul Revere’s legendary midnight ride through Massachusetts. In a statement about this new batch of episodes, Zimmern remarks: “Our nation’s historical journeys are the best way to see and taste the American cultural experience, and along the way meet the best people who represent it.”

Bizarre Foods airs at 9 p.m. EST/PST on Tuesday nights on the Travel Channel.
