Ferran Adrià is reminding everyone of the influence that his restaurant El Bulli had on the culinary landscape. The chef, who introduced molecular gastronomy to the world at the restaurant that closed in 2011, just launched a website listing everyone who played a part in the restaurant’s history. He calls them Bullinianos.
Created in homage to the El Bulli universe, Adrià announced on Twitter, the site gives a thorough accounting of each chef, sommelier, general manager, and more, who has been a part of the El Bulli restaurant or the El Bulli Foundation. The site allows El Bulli super fans and nostalgic former employees to search Bullinianos by project, department, year, and even nationality. There’s also a map of those Bullinianos that have achieved worldwide recognition, like Noma chef René Redzepi, Alinea’s Grant Achatz, and Joan and Jordi Roca of El Celler de Can Roca.
Bullinianos, the site proclaims, is “a way of life.” Check out all of the 1,000-plus people who have lived it here.
