If you’re not a “morning person” or someone who likes to “eat healthy things” in the a.m. hours, one surefire way to start the day is by funneling large quantities of caffeine and carbohydrates into your body right after you wake up. Understanding the appeal of this combination, national breakfast chain Einstein Bros Bagels decided to release a new product that bundles the two substances together. Say hello to the Espresso Buzz Bagel:
Each dense, brown loop has 32 MGs of caffeine, which is equivalent to one third of a cup of regular brewed coffee. That’s actually not very much caffeine, especially if you already drink a lot of coffee, but some mornings you need all the help you can get. For the real a.m. thrill seekers out there, Einstein Bros is also offering a breakfast sandwich version of the Espresso Buzz Bagel stuffed with bacon and eggs. It clocks in at around 600 calories, which is more than a Big Mac.
