Katy Perry’s ‘Bon Appetit’ Is the Filthy Foodie Jam of Spring 2017

Here’s a “five-star Michelin” jam from the pop superstar

At last, someone has recorded a song that appeals to both horny teenagers and stuffy gourmands alike. Katy Perry teased the release of “Bon Appetit,” her new collaboration with Atlanta hip hop trio Migos, by launching a pie-baking competition with her 56 million Twitter followers earlier this week. And now, as a reward for their hard work in the kitchen, Perry offers a first taste of this truly raunchy song that is chock full of restaurant/sex double entendres.

The single’s cover is a photo of her disembodied head on a fruit plate with arms reaching in, like an Instagram photo from hell’s resident food blogger. Here are some of the lyrics:

Looks like you’ve been starving
You got those hungry eyes
You could use some sugar
‘Cause your levels ain’t right
I’m a five star Michelin
A kobe flown in
You want what I’m cookin’ boy

And then there’s this verse:

So you want some more
Well I'm open 24
Wanna keep you satisfied
Customer's always right
Hope you've got some room
For the world's best cherry pie
Gonna hit that sweet tooth, boy

So that’s the cherry pie connection! Everything makes sense now, but NYT critic Pete Wells brings up a very good point about some of these lyrics:

You can listen to the whole thing on Spotify or download it on iTunes now.
