Taco Bell Is Putting Doritos in Its Quesalupa, Why Not

• Today in fast-food “innovations”: Taco Bell is upping its mashup game by stuffing a Doritos Locos Taco inside a Quesalupa — then topping the whole thing with nacho cheese — to create an unholy item it’s calling a Doritos Quesalupa Crunch. The news comes just days after the chain confirmed its cultishly beloved Naked Chicken Chalupa would be pulled off the limited-time only menu as scheduled.

• A Twinkies-flavored cappuccino might be coming to a convenience store near you. Hostess has announced a partnership that will bring a Twinkies drink that “combines creamy milk, sponge cake flavor, and a hint of coffee” to gas stations and convenience chains like Sheetz.

• Facebook’s Menlo Park, California campus touts its free cafeteria as a major perk for employees, but as Newsweek finds out, what they’re serving at the buffet simply isn’t very good.

• Vegan restaurateur Sarma Melngailis, deemed the “vegan Bernie Madoff” since being charged with stealing more than $1 million from investors, will spend at least six months in jail (and up to 15 years) if she’s convicted.

• This is just a delightfully random sentence: Chef Jamie Oliver is launching a Toronto food/music festival with the bassist from Blur, and Weezer will be the headliners. The Big Feastival, as it’s called, will take place August 18-20.

• lol Pizza Hut’s latest stunt involves Grant Hill and ordering pizza via a pair of sneakers.

• Ben and Jerry’s annual Free Cone Day is set for April 4 this year.
