Taco Bell Unleashes Its Own Mexican-Style Beer

The chain is really getting into the booze business

Taco Bell Cantina

Taco Bell’s latest product launch represents new territory for the Kit Kat quesadilla-slinging fast-food chain: It just debuted its very own beer. Called Beach Bell, the Orange County Register reports it’s a Mexican-style amber lager that was created in conjunction with Huntington Beach, California-based craft brewer Four Sons Brewing.

Sadly for Taco Bell diehards, the new beer is only available at the newly opened Taco Bell Cantina in Newport Beach — but with more booze-slinging Cantina locations on the way, perhaps the chain will collaborate with craft brewers in additional cities in the future.

Taco Bell began serving alcohol in 2015 when its first Cantina store opened in Chicago. In addition to beer, the Cantina stores — of which there are now nearly a dozen across the country — also serve “Twisted Freezes,” sweet slushy concoctions spiked with rum, vodka, or tequila. Taco Bell is targeting more urban areas for its Cantinas, which unlike regular Taco Bell stores do not have drive-thru windows.
