- Shake Shack is giving away free burgers this week. Through Sunday, Postmates users in 17 markets can send a free ShackBurger to a friend who doesn’t already use the delivery service and get a $10 credit to spend on their own ShackBurger.
- The SEC is putting the kibosh on restaurant-review app Munchee. The startup tried to raise capital by selling “MUN tokens,” which could either be purchased by app users or earned through writing restaurant reviews. But, the SEC decided these tokens were securities, meaning Munchee was required to register them with the SEC before sale. It didn’t, and the SEC halted its Initial Coin Offering.
- Beyoncé is not crazy in love with Lineup Brewing. Her team is ringing the alarm on Bïeryoncé, a German-style pilsner made by the Brooklyn brewery, sending the independent, women-owned brewery a cease and desist letter.

- Lady Gaga may be the latest celebrity to get into wine. The singer’s reps filed trademarks for two wines, a red and a white, named for her her father’s New york City Italian restaurant Joanne Trattoria. Earlier this year, Gaga also filed paperwork for a line of “Grigio Girls” wine. So far, though, all she has is the names.
