Chrissy Teigen Left a $1,000 Tip at Outback Steakhouse Last Week

  • Model, cookbook author, and A+ twitter person Chrissy Teigen gave a $1,000 tip to an Outback Steakhouse waitress in Ohio last week. Teigen is a noted fan of the chain and got a private lesson in how to make a Bloomin’ Onion earlier this year.
  • Starbucks sold its tea brand Tazo to Unilever for $384 million. The coffee company will focus on its other tea brand Teavana, which Starbucks wants to grow into a $3 billion business over the next five years. It purchased Tazo for $8.1 million almost 20 years ago.
  • A third of the new jobs created last month (261,000) came from the hospitality sector (89,000). This is mostly due to the fact that the sector was down in September due to hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria.

  • President Trump said he’ll start dining at local D.C. restaurants instead of only dining at either the White House or his Trump Hotel. And when he’s in Japan, he’ll dine with Prime Minister Abe at a teppanyaki grill.
