Watch: Is Kang Ho Dong Baekjeong the World’s Favorite Korean Barbecue?

‘K-Town’ discovers why this chain is so successful

Korean barbecue is easily the most popular way Americans like to consume Korean cuisine. And what’s not to like? It’s usually affordable, casual, interactive, and always fun. If there’s one place K-Town host Matthew Kang finds to be noticeably superior, it’s Kang Ho Dong Baekjeong — a South Korea-based chain with stateside outlets in Los Angeles, New Jersey, and New York.

In this episode, Kang heads to Baekjeong’s New York City location, one of the chain’s busiest that is constantly flanked by tourists and long waits for tables. Kang sits down with Eater senior editor Daniela Galarza to discover how Baekjeong manages to be so reliable and consist at each of its locations. “I feel like it’s the most approachable version of Korean barbecue in the center of the city,” Galarza says.
