Celebrating the film's 25th anniversary with upscale Lunchables and ’90s-inspired dishes

Nostalgic ’90s kids who have grown up to make a comfortable living in adulthood — or who have access to their dad’s credit cards — will want to consider visiting New York City over Christmas this year. The swanky Plaza Hotel is celebrating the 25th anniversary of Home Alone 2: Lost in New York with a special lodging package inspired by the film. Here’s your chance to live like Kevin McCallister.

Among the amenities that come with the package are an “over the top ice cream sundae” available through room service — go ahead and get that third scoop; you’re not driving. The Plaza’s in-house restaurant, Todd English Food Hall, will serve a theme menu of ’90s-inspired dishes. (Isn’t every menu at a Todd English restaurant ’90s-inspired?) Selections include upscale versions of Lunchables, SpaghettiOs, and Hot Pockets, which are being called, uh, Todd Pockets.

A four-hour limousine tour of NYC is included, but, unfortunately, there’s no mention of a cheese pizza for the ride. One would assume Donald Trump is too busy these days to make a cameo, but he might be able to get away for a bit.

The Plaza’s Home Alone 2 package is available starting December 1, and, for some reason, it runs all the way through October 29, 2018. Rates start at $895, which is equivalent to about 30 Talkboys at the toy’s original 1992 price.
