Danish brewing company Mikkeller is releasing a special line of Twin Peaks-themed beers at David Lynch’s Festival of Disruption in LA this weekend. The New York-based contingent of the Mikkeller team got feedback from Lynch on the design, branding, and taste of Log Lady Lager, Red Room Ale, and Damn Good Coffee Stout. That last beer is actually made using coffee from David Lynch Signature Cup Organic House Blend.
In an announcement about the beer’s launch, Miekeller NYC’s GM Jim Raras explains: “The Mikkeller NYC team loves Twin Peaks and serendipitously knows some great people who work with David Lynch. Once the conversation began, the ideas and collaboration flourished organically.” The brand’s art director, Keith Shore, says that Lynch and his crew sent along “a mood board of various Mikkeller labels they liked,“ and they took design inspiration directly from the show as well.
After this weekend’s Festival of Disruption — which, by the way, will feature screenings of David Lynch’s films and performances by a bunch of hip bands as well as Lynch himself — the beer will be available at Mikkeller breweries in San Diego, LA, San Francisco, and Oakland.
