This week on The Meat Show, professional carnivore and host Nick Solares hits the streets to sample the jerk-spiced wares at Manhattan roadside hit, Island Spice Grill. The Jamaican food stand — helmed by a husband and wife team, with the help of a portable barrel grill and smoker that can hold up to 700 pounds of meat at a time — regularly sells out to lines of hungry and adoring fans. Watch the video above to learn more.
Island Spice Grill sets up shop all over midtown Manhattan around lunch time, selling Jamaican-inspired dishes like lemon pepper brisket, jerk pork, and jerk chicken, plus specials like lamb and fish. Fans keep up with the pop-up's location by following it on Twitter, and line up for hours for a chance to score a plate. Solares joins the queue to taste an array of Island Spice's offerings. Is it worth the hype?
