Anthony Bourdain is back for another season of Parts Unknown, his award-winning CNN docu-series. Having already shared a meal with President Barack Obama in Hanoi, Bourdain is planning to spend some time with an old pal in an upcoming episode. In this preview of the television host's trip to Sichuan, China, Le Bernardin chef Eric Ripert joins the fun.
Bourdain and Ripert already know their way around a kitchen, but the duo heads back to school to learn the art of Sichuan cuisine. It's hot and fast, and they can't count on their previous years of culinary experience to serve as a guide. Bourdain sums up the work thusly: "The wok is intensely hot. Things cook quickly in there. A few seconds too slow, and things swiftly turn from the sublime into the ridiculous."
Parts Unknown's Sichuan episode is scheduled to air on Sunday, October 16. Get a sneak peek via the above video.
