Even Dwyane Wade Isn’t Immune to Starbucks Barista Misspellings

Celebrities — they’re just like us

Starbucks baristas are up to their old tricks: making coffee and taking names — and then misspelling those names. It’s become an almost charming part of the Starbucks’ experience. Even for celebrities. Three-time NBA champion Dwyane Wade might be hugely recognizable, and his name might make headlines after every game, but that didn’t stop a barista from spelling his name “Duane” on a Starbucks cup yesterday.

Say it ain't so..Am I turning into this guy now????

This isn’t the first time a celebrity has seen their name misspelled — or suffered from a case of mistaken identity — at Starbucks. In 2014, Dallas Mavericks' player Chandler Parsons was mistaken for Mavericks veteran Dirk Nowitzki. And earlier this year, a barista mistook actress Helen Hunt for Jodie Foster.

Of course, regular people suffer this fate on the daily. One writer even devised a botched Starbucks name generator based off of photos from Tumblr sites like Starbucks Name Fail.
