Taco Bell Unleashing Its Fried Chicken Shell Tacos Nationwide

New, 1 comment

Today, January 26, is the day of reckoning

Taco Bell

Taco Bell is rolling out yet another over-the-top menu item across the country. Its "Naked Chicken Chalupa" will be available nationwide as of today, January 26, the chain announced in a press release. That's right, you'll soon be able to enjoy chalupa fillings tucked inside fried chicken that's been molded into a taco shell.

The chain began testing a fried chicken shell taco at select locations in Bakersfield, California, in September 2015. It followed that up with the chalupa variety in a few Kansas markets last April. It features a fried chicken shell stuffed with shredded lettuce, cheddar cheese, diced tomatoes, and an avocado ranch sauce and comes in at $2.99.

The pseudo-Mexican chain clearly has a thing for molding chicken into weird shapes, recently launching triangular fried chicken "chips" served with dipping sauce for an odd twist on chips and salsa. Both menu items would pair well with a Taco Bell bikini available at the company's new merch store in Vegas, obviously.
