PBS's award-winning documentary show The Mind of a Chef is coming back for a fifth season this fall, and Ludo Lefebvre of Petit Trois in Los Angeles will be the star. There's no announced premiere date yet, but PBS has just released the season's first trailer. Give your eyeballs a look at what to expect this season, along with a full scene in which Lefebvre waxes poetically on escargot.
When he was announced as The Mind of a Chef's subject for the new season, Lefebvre told GQ magazine the episodes will focus on how Los Angeles has allowed him to become the chef that he is. "This season, I will explore my 20 years in LA, and I don't think I could have had this career in any other city in the world," he said. "LA is so unique and offers such great opportunity, [but] we will also head off to France and Paris and look back on my 12 years when I learned from some of the greats."
Lefebvre will be in front of the camera for eight episodes of Season 5. Officials haven't revealed who else is in line for an appearance, or how many episodes they might receive. The Mind of a Chef's previous four seasons each spanned 16 episodes.
