Rihanna, Jamie Foxx, Dick van Dyke Sang at Restaurants This Weekend Just Because They Felt Like It

Celebrities — they’re just like us! Except that they're rich, and beautiful, and have amazing voices which they sometimes use to belt out tunes in the middle of restaurants.

I was once dining in the lounge of a restaurant in Jacksonville, Florida — just a few days before the Super Bowl in 2005, so there were plenty of celebrities in the area — when, suddenly, Darius Rucker of Hootie and the Blowfish appeared seemingly out of nowhere, took the microphone, and began singing "Only Wanna Be with You." Years later, I saw Jimmy Fallon at a local bar when he — again, suddenly and without warning — ran to the microphone (where a live band was performing) and began singing the Cheers theme song.

When you are a celebrity, this is completely normal behavior. Case in point: Dick van Dyke, who treated diners at a Denny’s in Santa Monica to an a cappella rendition of "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" last week.

Jamie Foxx offered his own impromptu performance at Mastro’s in Midtown Manhattan this weekend, after dining on ribeye steak and chocolate cake. Page Six reports that, after his meal, Foxx "hopped on the stage with the live band, sang the chorus of [Ray Charles’ classic] ‘I Got a Woman’ while playing the piano, and then headed for the door."

But it was perhaps Rihanna who had the most fun of the bunch, singing while waiting for a McDonald’s order and wearing a receipt on her head.

Now, if only the three could form a supergroup and perform "B#$% Better Have My McNuggets" in fast food joints across the nation.
