Soon You'll be Able to Have a Deep-Fried Twinkie Anytime You Want

Is that a good thing?

Hostess

Hostess is about to make it easy for even the laziest of Americans to enjoy a deep-fried Twinkie. No more trips to the state fair, no more pots of hot oil on the stove. The company is partnering with Walmart to debut frozen Deep Fried Twinkies this Monday, August 15. Just grab one out of the freezer, throw it in the oven, and voila: a cream-filled, deep-fried gut bomb.

We may be doomed as a society.

Walmart has announced it will exclusively carry an "Original Golden" version of the sugar-packed snack for three to six months, and it will offer a chocolate version for a year. The Twinkies will be available at more than 4,000 of the company's stores across the country. What once was perhaps a rare treat is about to become an everyday snack for many Americans. When people are bored on the couch, they'll be able to mindlessly eat a Deep Fried Twinkie. Walmart boasts as much in a post on its official blog.

"And what's more exciting than a product that was previously only available at state fairs once a year, now being up for enjoyment anytime from your freezer?"

Yet another advancement in junk food technology. Hopefully the exercise and health care industries can keep up.
