Gordon Ramsay Earned as Much as Beyoncé Last Year

That whole shouty chef thing is clearly working out pretty well for Gordon Ramsay: The celebrity chef ranks among the world's 100 highest-paid celebrities, according to Forbes' new ranking for 2016.

The chef (who also happens to be a skilled fisherman and a new mobile app star) earned $54 million over the past 12 months, which puts him at number 34 on the list. That puts Ramsay slightly ahead of mobile game rival Kim Kardashian, who comes in at number 42 with earnings of $51 million last year.

While clocking in at number 34 seems pretty damn impressive for the one and only chef on the list, Ramsay's actually taken a considerable tumble since last year: On 2015's list, he was ranked 22nd.

According to Forbes, the bulk of Ramsay's wealth comes from his starring roles on three hit Fox shows: Hell's Kitchen, MasterChef, and MasterChef Junior. He also heads a veritable food empire that includes 30 restaurants and holds six Michelin stars.

Though reality television might not seem like the most lucrative gig, it's certainly working out for Ramsay — he's neck-and-neck with Beyoncé, who also pulled in $54 million last year, and just ahead of her husband Jay-Z, who earned $53.5 million.

Notably absent from the Forbes list? Fellow Brit chef Jamie Oliver, who has said that Ramsay is "deeply jealous" of him. But don't feel too bad for the almost-Hobbit, as he's sitting on a sizable fortune of his own: According to The Richest, Oliver's net worth is currently $400 million, while Ramsay's is less than half that — $175 million.
