Behold Cronut Creator Dominique Ansel's New Dessert Tasting Menu

Eight courses of fun

The pastry chef behind Cronuts, chocolate chip cookie shots, and some of the most talked about kouign amann in New York City, Dominque Ansel is known for developing inventive, visual, and crave-worthy desserts. At UP, the dessert-only tasting table he launched last summer above Dominique Ansel Kitchen in the West Village, diners are treated to a full menu of Ansel's creations. Each menu is designed around a theme.

This month marked the beginning of a new menu at UP, which will be available for the next six months. Called "American Dreams," the after-hours dessert tasting travels through history from the Gold Rush to the Tech Boom, with a series of dishes modeled after what the American Dream looked like at the time — ending, aptly, with an Instagram-inspired dish named "#GoingViral." Watch the video above for an inside look at the interactive menu.

Tickets for go on sale on the first of each month at noon for the following month’s seatings; the seven-course menu starts at $85-per-person, with cocktail pairings available for an additional $45-per-person.
