From a vegan cheese shop to a $445 vegetarian tasting menu, eating green has never been this exciting.

Vegetarian diners used to have to settle for dry veggie burgers, cheese sandwiches, and a consistent barrage of hippie dippie decor. Those days are over. Today's vegetarian dining scene across the continent includes everything from a death metal-themed cocktail den serving an all-vegan menu in San Diego to a fully vegan cheese and butcher shop in Portland, OR. We live in an age where vegan charcuterie is seducing carnivores in Houston. Veggie-centric restaurants are mushrooming all over New York City. And huge-name chefs like Joël Robuchon are cranking out $445 vegetarian tasting menus for the jet set.
