It's Ross Geller like you've never seen him before: paired up with an ex-con and starting a restaurant in the Bronx. AMC's new series 'Feed the Beast' — set to premiere on June 5 with a second episode following closely behind on June 7 — puts a dramatic spin on the process of opening a restaurant, complete with violent mobsters, drugs, and alcohol.

David Schwimmer and Jim Sturgess star in this culinary drama as an unlikely duo that opens an upscale restaurant in their hometown. Sturgess's character Dion Pappas is newly out of prison, and takes charge in the kitchen while Schwimmer's Tommy Moran is a former sommelier and functioning alcoholic with a son, both of whom are trying to get over the death of Moran's wife.

Both actors underwent culinary training to achieve some measure of authenticity in this dramatic series, according to Time Out. The trailer for the show promises tense moments between friends and mobsters, as well as a look at the everyday struggle of maintaining a high-end restaurant.
